Some compasses point North, and some point to creativity. My compass led to the creative side. Not the most easy path to follow, but the choice to follow the arts was a no brainer for me. I started my creative journey in the 1990's. Like many artists I began by experimenting with two dimensional art, doing sketching and painting. These mediums are still important to my artistic development, but the three dimensional work has over shadowed most of my earlier work.
After meeting and marrying my husband Larry, he began to teach me metalwork and I moved into three dimensional sculpture and functional art. We started our business Earth Eagle Forge LLC in 2001. With Larry by my side we use a variety of traditional blacksmithing and sculpture methods to create functional pieces as well as sculptural, or combine sculptural with the functional.
We moved our home and business in 2013 from Guthrie Minnesota to 40 acres in Longville Minnesota. Nature has been such an influence in my designs and our work. We are surrounded by a forest which allow us to watch the wildlife walking by or flying overhead.
Art is a tool for my soul, a way to convey my vision of nature and human beings as a seamless whole. I desire beauty, but I have an eye for the ironic and for the magical, fantastic, and strange.

For "Fireplace Screens"
I am so happy I was able to find Paula and Larry at Earth Eagle Forge! The work on my custom firescreen is EXQUISITE. I don't think I could have found a more skilled artisan for this project. Paula is such a professional - very thorough, timely, courteous and honest. I asked for a very large, detailed piece to be mounted on an uneven rock surface and she was able to pull it off and contain the cost as much as possible without sacrificing the artistic integrity of the piece. I was kept up to date and involved in the entire process. Because of bad weather we were forced to wait a few days before we could uncrate the firescreen (torture!) and we'll need to wait a few more days before installing as its going on our covered fireplace outside, BUT, I can not wait to post pictures of this amazing piece. I would not hesitate to work with Earth Eagle Forge again for any future projects - thanks Paula!!!

We commissioned Paula Jensen, Earth Eagle Forge LLC to create a life size Great Grey Owl out of sheet bronze to be placed at deck-view, on a tree in our backyard. We suggested the owl's back be facing the deck with it's head turned, looking toward the deck. She researched the owl, completed concept sketches, we agreed on a price and upon our approval she started the sculpture. She kept us informed of her progress through photos and updates on her webpage.
Paula is a very professional artist. Not only was she concerned that we would be pleased with her work, but she demands an excellence in herself that is captured in every detail of her product. You not only notice detail on every feather, but she created a bronze branch for it to perch on and a frog in it's talons. I recommend visiting her webpage to see the process.
Following the owl project we asked that she create a handrail for our front step that was in the shape of a viking-type dragon. After a brief discussion of what shape that may take, she designed and created a dragon head and serpent body rail that blends in beautifully with our nordic theme.
I highly recommend this artist for her knowledge, skill, ability to listen, and create a product of the highest standard in metal sculpting.
